My painting seeks to capture the immediacy of human existence. Through a powerful, expressive visual language, I focus on the essential—the “capturing of the moment.”
Large formats serve as a resonant space for themes that demand a clear artistic response. My style is characterized by dynamic brushwork and a direct approach: Each work evolves from an intense engagement with the subject, with the fleeting sketch finding its own freedom within the painting process.

People are at the center of my work. Through powerful portraits and groups of figures, I bring the traces of life into view—from human interactions and contemporary issues to the structures of nature. My works invite the viewer to let go of their safe distance and engage directly with the immediacy of the moment.

I live and work in Gaimersheim and on Mallorca.
Awards and regular exhibitions both domestically and abroad.

Works in public and private collections, including the Federal Chancellery in Berlin, the Kulturbahnhof in Aalen, and Merkur Bank in Munich.

« …Gisela’s colours are extremely vivid and bright. She uses them in a free and spontaneous manner, in the tradition of German Expressionism (we can think of Nolde or Kirchner) but also in the tradition of open direct speech — which has almost been forgotten today….. »
